If you ' re currently unemployed and the bills are piling up, you may feel like you have no choice but to jump on the first job opportunity that comes your way, says Ryan Kahn, a career coach, founder of The Hired Group , and author of " Hired! The Guide for the Recent Grad . "
" Or, if you ' re just unhappy at work, you may be tempted to take anything because a new job may seem like a welcome escape," he adds.
Michael Kerr, an international business speaker and author of " You Can't Be Serious! Putting Humor to Work," agrees. "Many candidates jump in feet first largely out of fear — especially fear that another opportunity may not come their way again," he explains. "I've also seen people take jobs simply because of the work and time they've invested in the application and interviewing process. They feel a sense of obligation to follow through."
